How a job runs

Six steps, and the last one is automatic.

BOM — define the recipe

Components, quantities and sub-assemblies, with multi-level explosion and where-used impact analysis.

Routing — sequence the operations

Operations laid out across work centres and resources, so the plan knows what happens where and how long it should take.

Work order — release to the floor

Release a quantity with its BOM and routing attached. Create, release, cancel and close, with a rework path for when it comes back.

Track ops — live, not retrospective

Start, pause and finish operations with hours and quantities captured as they happen, and a progress log behind each one. Queue and capacity with drag-to-reorder priority.

Complete — receive and consume

Receive finished goods, consume raw material — by backflush or by explicit lot-picked issue — and close the order.

Post to GL — nobody types a journal

WIP clears to finished goods and the journals land in LeoCore ERP automatically, with standard-cost variance calculated against the plan.

Quality & traceability

Able to answer the recall question.

If a customer reports a fault on a batch shipped nine months ago, you need to know what went into it, who ran which operation, what the inspection found, and which other batches share the same raw lot. That is one query here, not a week in the archive.

Inspection that counts

QC checks against defined plans, AQL sample plans for statistically sound acceptance, non-conformance reports for what fails, and live SPC control charts so drift is visible before it becomes scrap.

Complete genealogy

Depth-first tracing from a finished good back through every component to the raw material, with a per-lot movement ledger and serial or lot tracking set per item.

Instruments you can trust

Preventive maintenance schedules that raise their own work orders, and gauge calibration tracking — because an inspection signed off on an out-of-calibration instrument proves nothing.

Costed honestly

Standard-cost variance, an OEE dashboard, eleven production reports, and completion posting WIP through to finished goods in the general ledger.

Fits the floor it is on

Two modes, four roles.

A twelve-person workshop and a regulated plant need the same core and very different amounts of paperwork. Rather than sell two products, LeoCore Production hides what you do not need until you need it.

Simple mode

For 5–20 staff workshops.

The core visible — BOMs, routings, work orders, operation tracking, completion and posting. The paperwork-heavy functions stay hidden, so the floor is not navigating approval workflows it will never use.

Standard mode

Full control for regulated manufacturing.

Everything in Simple, plus engineering change orders, MRP, calibration, SPC, skills matrices, approvals, lots and batches, and subcontracting. Turned on when the auditor arrives, not rebuilt.

Before you ask

Runs alongside LeoCore ERP.

Do I need LeoCore ERP as well?

Yes. Production is an add-on module, not a standalone MES, and that is the point — it shares the ERP’s items, warehouses and chart of accounts, which is what lets a work order move real stock and post a real journal. A standalone MES would need a bridge, and a bridge is where the numbers stop agreeing.

We are a small workshop. Is this too much system?

Simple mode is designed for exactly that — five to twenty staff, with the approval workflows, calibration and SPC hidden until you ask for them. You can move to Standard later without rebuilding anything.

Can we subcontract part of a route?

Yes. Subcontracting is handled inside MRP alongside net requirements and make-versus-buy, so an operation sent outside still carries its cost and its traceability back into the work order.

What does it cost?

Production is quoted per deployment alongside LeoCore ERP, because the honest answer depends on how many work centres, how many staff on the floor and whether you need Standard mode. Book a walkthrough and we will price the actual shape of it.
